Andrew Gooi's film 'Kakehashi' is a documentary about the culinary endeavors and life story of James Beard Awards winner, Chef Nobuo Fukuda. Born & raised in Machida, Japan, Chef Nobuo struggled to fit within the strict culture & moved to the United States to pursue a different life. Over the years, he became a self-taught chef, returning often to Japan to source & learn about ingredients. He would combine these Japanese ingredients with Western execution, providing guests with a taste of both worlds at his Arizona-based restaurant, 'Nobuo at Teeter House.'
On February 8th there will be two screenings at 6:30 pm and 7:40 pm. Note: Tickets will not be sold at Harkins Theaters.
