TUCSON: SAVOR Southern Arizona Food & Wine Festival
On Saturday, February 4th, Tucson welcomed food lovers to the 4th annual SAVOR festival, featuring more than 75 of the region's chefs, restaurants and Arizona breweries, distilleries, and wineries. This sold-out event was a collaboration with SAACA and Local First Arizona and took place in the lovely setting of the Tucson Botanical Gardens.
Attendees strolled through the grounds as they sippped and savored dishes such as Bob's Steak and Chop House's cured salmon and lavender-rose Bavarian cream.
Smoked duck and pickled shrimp salad with pomegranate boba and Guajillo pepper syrup from Epazote at Tucson El Conquistador.
Dominick's Real Italian lasagna and tiramisu.
Wildflower's bacon-wrapped Jidori chicken torchon on smoked cheddar grits.
Primo at the JW Marriott Tuscon served polpette sliders with arugula and mozzarella.
Sweet treats included ricotta panna cotta with biscotti and fig and date compote from North Italia, and Wildflower's sticky toffee pudding.
Guests also enjoyed Rigo's chicken chile poblano peppers, Ramona Farm's poshol (tepary bean soup), Beyond Bread's King Cake, and more.
Of course, there were plenty of beverages to wash it all down, including cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
Tickets for the 2018 event go on sale in July. For more information, visit SAACA.
