A sad day: Wedge and Bottle closing
I was so sorry to get the announcement in my inbox yesterday from the owners of Wedge and Bottle, which reads in part, "We are extremely sorry to inform you that we are closing our doors at the end of this month. Every summer has been difficult for us to get through and starting this one with a bad spring was enough to force us into closing. It has been a wonderful experience sharing our cheese love with you and we are forever grateful for your love and support of our little shop. We will really miss seeing all of your lovely faces and hope you can make it in to see us as we are selling our final inventory through June 30th. Everything will be sold at 25% off or more. We have loved the past 4 years and still hope to find jobs in the valley that allow us to work with products that we feel passionate about. If you know of anything you think we would be a good fit for please let us know."
Not only was this the only shop of its kind in the Phoenix area, but the owners are an amazing couple who built a dream. It's a reminder to frequent and support these family-owned businesses that we love. I didn't live close enough to make regular stops, but when I did, I stocked up. I'm not only saddened for Krista and Troy, but saddened that we won't be able to find the amazing cheese and charcuterie selection their little shop gave us:
