Zinc Bistro
On a beautiful Arizona afternoon, Zinc Bistro's patio is one of our favorite spots for a leisurely lunch. It's a lovely French-inspired patio outlined in wrought-iron railings with marble tables in the pretty setting of Kierland Commons. We always have friendly service, great wines and cocktails, and consistently delicious French bistro fare. Some past visits:
French 75, Zinc Burger with truffle Gruyere, rosé, French onion soup, and truffle frites.
A sunny afternoon visit with a glass of Chateau d'Aqueria Tavel rosé, duck confit sandwich with pate, gastrique onions, pickled kumquats, and foie gras aioli, and crab and truffle omelette with béarnaise and straw potatoes.
The dish I order most often: Moules Marinières with a glass of chablis.
Frites with truffle and parmesan, oysters, Zinc Burger with blue cheese, crab and mushroom crepe with lobster sauce and fennel, and macaroni au gratin with ham and mimolette cheese.
Sadly, we've always been too full for dessert!
While it's the perfect stop to fuel up while shopping, we've always made it a destination spot and worth the 30-minute drive from home.
