Cinnamon tamales

Saturday, Dec. 9, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. to Sunday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
 
Food City’s 16th annual Tamale Festival is FREE and open to the general public, and attendees will be able to taste and buy a wide selection of savory and sweet homemade tamales, as well as enjoy jewelry, arts and crafts and much more. The event will offer live mariachis, ballet folklorico dancers, and other musical entertainment.  Food City also will be selling tamales, menudo, carne asada burritos, durros, aguas frescas and champurrado (Mexican hot chocolate).

A panel of celebrity judges will name the “Best Tamale” at 2:30 pm on Sunday for Food City prizes:
·        First Place Winner will receive a living room set, 40” TV with surround sound, a Coach purse, tamale pot, (7) kitchen appliances and a $150 Food City gift card
·        Second Place Winner will receive a dining room set, 32” TV, a Coach purse, tamale pot, (5) kitchen appliances and a $75 Food City gift card
·        Third Place Winner will receive a 32” TV, a Coach purse, tamale pot, (3) kitchen appliances and a $50 Food City gift card
