Old Town Gringos Announces New Menu and Restaurant Revamp
New menu includes Mexican-inspired dishes with an Old Town Gringos twist
Scottsdale, Ariz. (PRESS RELEASE) - Old Town Gringos, a taqueria and cantina in Old Town Scottsdale, Ariz., announced today the launch of its new menu, which features a variety of Mexican and American favorites prepared with an “Old Town Gringos twist.” The new menu coincides with the restaurant’s fresh look under its new ownership of Chicago-based Glass Half Full LLC and features items that celebrate its Chicago heritage and new Southwest home.
Old Town Gringos’ “First Inning” appetizer items include a variety of traditional favorites, as well as more adventurous bites, such as its Elote Dip, a mix of Mexican street corn, creamy cotija sauce, lime and chile powder, combines a unique blend of Southwest ingredients to create a cheesy corn dip served with house-made tortilla chips. Other “First Inning” menu items feature a Southwestern twist on traditional bar fare including its Wings, made with Mexican dry rub, and its Queso Dip, served with a choice of carnitas, chicken, chorizo, marinated steak, short rib or shrimp for a unique taste. Old Town Gringos’ Signature Street Tacos are served in seven different flavors, including specialties like the BBQ Pork, a flavorful Southwest spin on traditional Midwest BBQ. Tacos are served á la carte or as a platter combo with beans and rice.
The “Not Taco” entrée items bring together the best flavors from both sides of the border and include specialties such as the Mexican Cheeseburger, a pork chorizo and angus beef patty topped with elote, fresh jalapeño and pepper jack cheese for a spicy bite. In addition to Southwest favorites, other items include dishes that pay homage to Old Town Gringos’ new owners’ Chicago roots, such as the BBQ Pork Sandwich, an American staple. The new menu also includes brunch, which is served on the weekends from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features non-traditional dishes, such as Tots and Chorizo Bacon Gravy.
As part of its new menu, Old Town Gringos is serving a larger selection of draft beer and wine and new specialty cocktails inspired by its Chicago heritage.
Staying true to the home team of its new ownership, the bar is cheering on the Chicago Cubs with a roster of handcrafted cocktails, including the Maddon’s Moxy, named after Jon Maddon, the Cubs’ manager who led the team to its World Series victory in 2016; Da Rizzo, a twist on a classic Red Bull vodka and ode to three-time All-Star and Cubs’ first baseman, Anthony Rizzo; and Harry’s “Holy Cow” Margarita, a game day favorite inspired by Harry Caray, a former Cubs’ announcer known for shouting his famous catchphrase every time the team scored a homerun. The new drink menu also includes classic staples and timeless cocktails, such as House Margaritas, served in more than seven different flavors.
Under its new ownership, Old Town Gringos boasts private event space on its VIP second story patio, “The Roof,” that is available for corporate lunches, office happy hours, and private nightlife events. Old Town Gringos also offers its OTG Trolley that is available to book for events including company outings, sporting events, bachelor and bachelorette parties, pub crawls, and more.
