"So Far, So Good" Cocktail Bar Is Coming To The Churchill

Former Pobrecito GM, Sam Olguin will launch this all-new cocktail bar on October 1, plus roll out a revamped drinks menu at The Brill Line

(PRESS RELEASE) The all-new cocktail bar, So Far, So Good is coming to The Churchill in downtown Phoenix this fall, paired with a revamped, expanded drinks menu at The Brill Line. Led by The Churchill's new Beverage Director, Sam Olguin, So Far, So Good's menu will feature cocktails made with fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs, with the focus being on straightforward and clean flavors. So Far, So Good is scheduled to open on October 1 inside the former Pobrecito space.

"So Far, So Good is an approachable neighborhood cocktail bar, where we're not pigeonholed to a certain type of spirits or theme, but instead we're focused on serving up a variety of interesting but straightforward drinks," Olguin says.

Following a month-long remodel starting on September 1, So Far, So Good will feature a clean-lined minimalistic look highlighted by black, white and gold accents. The Brill Line (which is named after the electric streetcar that once rumbled through this historic neighborhood) will still be serving up the best local and limited edition craft beers, alongside a new menu of draft cocktails, shareable punch bowls, and what Olguin describes as, "unique and lesser known classics, like the Vieux Carré."

"We're excited to welcome So Far, So Good to The Churchill family," says Hartley Roadie, who co-founded and manages this unique collective of 10 local businesses alongside fellow Phoenix native, Kell Duncan. "Sam has been here since we opened in fall of 2018, and is the perfect person to oversee both on-site bars and complement the amazing food, drinks and fun we offer every day."

Named after its historic downtown Phoenix neighborhood-Evans Churchill-The Churchill is a 14,000 sq.-ft. urban marketplace constructed out of 19 recycled shipping containers. Housed on the NE corner of 1st Street and Garfield, The Churchill is proudly home to 10 small local businesses, which have all committed to completing at least 4 hours of community service each month. Centered around a 9,000 sq.-ft. communal courtyard, The Churchill also hosts a curated events series, ranging from speakers, art classes, fitness classes, sports viewing and pop-up artist galleries, to weekly community service outings and non-profit fundraisers.
