SCOTTSDALE (PRESS RELEASE) – With temperatures finally cooling down, Marcellino Ristorante is celebrating the start of the holiday season with a new “Pas-tahhh-bulous Wednesdays” promotion throughout November. Guests ordering one of Chef Marcellino Verzino’s fabulous hand-crafted pasta dishes on Wednesday nights can enter to win a 16-ounce jar of his fresh Italian sauce to enjoy at home plus a signed copy of the new Phoenix Cooks cookbook.
“Chef Marcellino’s fresh pasta dishes soothe the soul with intoxicating aromas and scrumptious flavors,” Sima Verzino said. “Fall is the perfect season to indulge in Chef’s delectable pasta dishes, and we created ‘Pas-tahhh-bulous Wednesdays’ as a fun way to bump up the mid-week and highlight Chef’s exceptional pastas.”
Chef Marcellino is passionate about making fresh pasta daily. His much-anticipated cool weather favorite, Cacio e Pepe, will be presented once again as temperatures cool down in November.
“I am always so delighted to find our diners requesting this dish as soon as the weather permits,” Sima said. “It is a hearty, soul-fulfilling, robust scialatielli pasta that combines caramelized red onions, pancetta (unsmoked bacon,) sautéed with his rich tomato sauce topped with grated parmigiana. Our diners can’t seem to get enough of it!”
In addition to Chef’s delicious daily pasta specials, the fine dining restaurant offers six delicious pasta dishes every night, ranging from “Scialatielli alle Vongole,” featuring his robust pasta sautéed with Manila clams, olive oil, garlic, white wine and red pepper flakes to the popular “Gnocchi Sorrentina.” Sometimes referred to as the “King of Comfort Food,” Gnocchi are a classic part of Italian cuisine. The blissful dish combines potatoes, flour and parmigiano, which transform into delectable pillows of pleasure for anyone’s palate. Guests can choose from Chef’s rich, homemade tomato sauce and melted mozzarella bits or a creamy gorgonzola sauce.
At the end of November, Chef Marcellino will choose a random winner from the “Pas-tahhh-bulous Wednesdays” raffle. The winner will receive a signed copy of the new Phoenix Cooks cookbook. Chef Marcellino is one of 98 talented chefs featured in the 2020 Phoenix Cooks cookbook written by award-winning food writer, Christina Barrueta. The retail price for the hardcover cookbook is $32.08. Marcellino Ristorante is offering a limited amount of cookbooks for $25.
The winner will also receive a free 16-ounce jar of Chef Marcellino’s fresh, homemade Italian sauce. Since Chef Marcellino began jarring his sauces, they have been a big hit with restaurant guests and take-out orders. The 16-ounce jars serve four and come in four delectable flavors: Tomato, Sausage Ragu, Beef Ragu, and Bolognese. Prices range from $12 to $18.
With stringent CDC policies followed, this Old Town Scottsdale restaurant offers take-out service Tuesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., which includes the restaurant’s complete dinner menu with curbside pick-up available.
