Press Coffee Launches Specialty Allocation Coffee
Press Coffee Launches New Allocation Coffee
Offering the Best Coffees the World Has to Offer
PHOENIX (Press Release) Press Coffee prides itself on being a leader in specialty coffee. The local coffee purveyor does so by selecting the best beans from around the world, roasting them by skilled artisans at the company’s roastery and educating staff and customers about the characteristics that make specialty coffee unique. Now, for the first time, Press is rolling out a new Allocation coffee line.
Specialty coffee is a term used to refer to coffee that has scored over 80 points on a 100-point scale by the Specialty Coffee Association of America. Specialty coffees are different from commodity coffee. The beans all come from higher elevation regions. Soil, growing conditions and harvesting are all accounted for to evaluate the green bean. The beans must have minimum defects and when roasted produce clean and consistent coffee. The coffee is scored and evaluated on aroma, flavor, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance, uniformity, clean cup, sweetness and defects.
Press’ Allocation line will only include beans that score over 90 points. The first allocation comes from a micro-mill in central Costa Rica. The lot of land is 1,300 to 1,600 meters above sea level. The coffee has balanced acidity with a silky texture and tasting notes of vanilla and fruit, specifically strawberry, blackberry, and cherry.
“We are thrilled to launch this specialty coffee program,” said Will Andrews, lead roaster of Press Coffee. “Tasting and experiencing these unique coffees is very rare. We want to give this opportunity to our staff and customers as it is our passion to enjoy and immerse ourselves in the best coffee in the world.”
These specialty coffees will be released quarterly with a limited quantity available. Online subscribers will be offered their allocation first, then each retail store will be supplied a limited amount to serve customers as a pour over, and any remaining will be sold on the website. This first allocation is set to release on March 15. The 6-ounce package will retail for $26.
