Campo Italian Bistro Comes to Scottsdale
Culinary Dream Team Opens Campo Italian Bistro & Bar June 1
Chefs Alex Stratta and Jeremy Pacheco’s take on modern Italian in the Genuine Concepts family
(PRESS RELEASE) – Genuine Concepts, the neighborhood-focused restaurant group behind The VIG, The Little Woody, The Womack, Ladera Taverna y Cocina, and The McMillan, is proud to announce that Campo Italian Bistro and Bar has joined the familia and is now open for dinner service starting June 1. Led by the James Beard Award-winning chef, Alessandro ‘Alex’ Stratta, and Genuine Concepts’ Executive Chef, Jeremy Pacheco, Campo is a modern Italian tavern offering a familiar menu of from-scratch Italian eats such as shareable antipastos and snacks, plus pizzas, “pocket” sandwiches, and fresh pasta, alongside craft beers, wines, and cocktails. Housed inside an inviting, perfectly imperfect space featuring warm wood community tables and an open floorplan, good food and a relaxing vibe, Campo is open Tuesdays through Sundays beginning at 3 pm.
To bring the best of the Italian countryside to the heart of Scottsdale, Campo started with authentic family recipes from both chef Stratta and Pacheco. And to stay true to the Italian ethos of using only the freshest seasonal ingredients, Campo cooks with local, organic foods from Arizona producers, such as Huss Brewing Co., Four Peaks, Brewing Company, McClendon’s Select, Queen Creek Olive Mill, Crow’s Dairy, Sonoran Pasta Co., and more. Think “Snacks” and “Antipastos” such as Calamari Fritti and Wagyu Beef Carpaccio made with American wagyu from Glendale’s own Rovey Family Farms. Handcrafted with organic durum wheat from the Sonoran Pasta Co., Campo’s pasta selection includes a decadent Mafaldini Pescatore, or squid ink pasta, with lobster, mussels, clams and shrimp, and a signature Lasagna Bolognese, with mozzarella, fontina cheese, parmigiano and basil. Plus, Campo’s artisan pizzas and “Handhelds” such as Chicken Parm are all made with organic doughs. For heartier appetites, enjoy “Mains” such as Chicken Al Matone or Crispy Salmon with Tuscan beans, plus don’t forget dessert, including Olive Oil cake with pistachio gelato or Citrus Semifreddo.
Upon arriving, a sense of familiarity envelops diners with an elevated, aesthetically approachable space layered with textured walls, mixed woods, patinaed copper, moody lighting, and primitive surfaces.
At Campo, guests choose their own experience. Whether it’s savoring a crafted cocktail, like the Italian Crush or the Peach Rosemary Martini in the palm filled bar, a comfortable hang out in the lounge with some shared plates, getting pampered in the artfully decorated dining room, meeting new neighbors at the communal tables, or enjoying the charming full-service patio lined with café lights and country foliage, Campo is sure to be the favorite neighborhood hang out. Campo Italian Bistro and Bar is located at 8260 N. Hayden Rd. #A102 inside the Mercado on Hayden shopping center in Scottsdale, AZ. Open Tuesdays – Thursdays 3-9pm; Fridays - Saturdays 3-10pm; and Sunday 3-9pm. For more information call 480-597-9195 or visit www.campoitalian.com.
