The Maggiore Group Debuts The Mexicano in North Phoenix on December 9
The Maggiore Group, powerhouse concept creators behind Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker are proud to officially unveil their latest culinary masterpiece, The Mexicano. The newest restaurant concept, spearheaded by husband-and-wife duo Celeb Chef Joey Maggiore and Cristina Maggiore, will open on December 9 and is inspired by the flavors, colorful art, music and culture of Mexico. The buzzy, nouveau Mexican eatery will debut with a reimagined experience including Mexico City-inspired design, a chef-driven menu, experiential food and cocktail carts, rotating DJs featuring Latin music and the country’s first-ever build-your-own Michelada bar.
The Mexicano highlights include:
Comida and Cócteles: The creative culinary menu helmed by Chef Joey Maggiore and brought to life by Executive Chef de Cuisine Fidencio Alatriste, aims to represent the traditions and vibrancy of Mexico while providing elevated, quality cuisine to all guests. The menu ranges from lunch to dinner items and features beloved classics in Mexican cuisine with extravagant, contemporary spins to match the exuberance of the concept. Guests can expect family style, small plate dining that is perfect for all to share and menu items like smoking grouper ceviche presented in a coconut shell, lava rock fajitas served on sizzling lava stones, 36-inch quesadillas, charcoal-grilled prime meats and seafood such as half chicken, ribeye with chimichurri, chipotle agave shrimp, and more. The cocktail program will feature a curated selection of the finest tequilas, mezcals, beers, wines, and tantalizing cocktails such as piñata margaritas, frozen margarita flights, and agave-based cocktails.
Over-the-top Experience: The restaurant will exude the energetic vibes made popular by the group’s sister concept, Hash Kitchen, with a fiesta flair complete with rotating DJs every weekend. True to Maggiore style, The Mexicano will feature the country’s first Michelada bar, a mobile churro cart and a donkey cart with a tequila ice luge and shot glasses. At the build-your-own Michelada bar, guests can mix and match infused tequilas, Mexican draft beers and over 40 mouth-watering toppings such as oysters, shrimp cocktail, pickled jicama, dry chorizo, tamarindo sticks and habañero cheese to make their ideal Michelada.
Design: Desert modernism meets the vibrancy and artful oasis of Mexico City at The Mexicano. Design visionary Cristina Maggiore teamed up with ideation Design Group and Peter Thomas Designs for the indoor and outdoor design. Filled with oversized Mexican wall art and bright design elements including patterned tile, an agave wall, and a piñata-inspired DJ booth, the 5,500-square-foot indoor dining room has many spaces for a social dining experience. The 2,800 al fresco dining patio has a capacity to seat 300 guests.
Grand Opening: The first 100 customers who dine in at The Mexicano on December 9 will be entered into a contest to win a $1,000 gift card from The Maggiore Group that may be applied at their restaurant concepts including The Mexicano, Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker. Opening week will feature dinner service and the following week, lunch service will begin.
