The VIG Park West Comes to Peoria
The VIG Park West is Coming to The NW Valley in Early 2023
The sixth Valley location of this neighborhood-focused tavern will feature a first-ever pizza oven, plus nods to the area’s deep farming roots, and Luke Air Force Base
(PRESS RELEASE) – The Valley’s favorite neighborhood hangout, The VIG, is opening an all-new location in the heart of the Peoria/Glendale Sports & Entertainment district in early 2023. Housed inside the Park West shopping center just across the highway from the Arizona Cardinals stadium, The VIG Park West (9824 W Northern Ave #1840, Peoria, AZ 85345) will welcome this fast-growing neighborhood with a bespoke, light-filled indoor-outdoor space perfect for both high-energy sports weekends, but also casual weekday happy hours and chef-crafted dinner dates. Now under construction at the NE corner of Northern & 99th Avenues, The VIG Park West will pair upscale tavern fare, including The VIG’s first-ever pizza oven, with Vignature cocktails, craft beer and wine.
“As one of the first locations inside a traditional shopping center, we wanted to make sure The VIG Park West’s look and feel really speaks to the neighborhood and honors the unique history here in the NW Valley,” says architect Artie Vigil of AV3 Design Studio.
Best described as a modern twist on traditional Arizona territorial design, The VIG Park West boasts four unique dining and seating areas: the spacious, street-side patio; a sunlight-filled Arizona room; a semi-private den; and the bar and lounge. Built with timeless elements such as stone, plaster, and patinaed woods, The VIG Park West also features subtle nods to both the area’s deep agricultural roots and nearby Luke Air Force Base. This includes the horseshoe-shaped central bar clad in aluminum panels with metal rivets reminiscent of an airplane, and the oversized terra cotta pots planted with olive trees and succulents lining the outdoor patios and entryway like hedgerows in a field.
“It’s not a sports bar,” Virgil says, “but because it’s near the arenas, it will have a chameleon-like ability to transform into the perfect space to hang out on game days thanks to extensive TVs and the flexible indoor-outdoor spaces.” The VIG Park West’s light, airy design also features a semi-private 20-person ‘den’, like a building within a building with a stone-clad fireplace and bookcase, that can be curtained off. Plus, a traditional Arizona Sun Room which seamlessly connects the patio with the dining room thanks to living indoor trees under soaring skylights.
Led by renowned chef, Jeremy Pacheco, The VIG Park West will be open daily for lunch and dinner, plus weekend brunch and weekday happy hour from 3-6 pm. First founded in 2006 with the opening of The VIG Arcadia, The VIG Park West is the sixth location for this hyper-local, community-driven tavern.
