Grape Arizona 2017
On January 29th, wine-lovers gathered at Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix to celebrate Arizona's award-winning winemakers and vineyards at the seventh annual Grape Arizona Wine Event, benefitting Phoenix Rotary Club Charities Youth Programs. This year marked a move to a bigger venue, and it was the perfect location to enjoy some of our local treasures on a lovely January weekend.
The 2017 Grape Arizona wine festival welcomed Caduceus Cellars, Carlson Creek Vineyards, Chateau Tumbleweed, Dektown Cellars, Kief-Joshua Vineyards, LDV Winery, Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery, Page Spring Cellars, Passion Cellars, Pierce Wines Arizona, Pillsbury Wine Company, Rune Wines, Sand-Reckoner Vineyards, Sierra Bonita Vineyards, Wilhelm Family Vineyards, and Zarpara Vineyard and Winery.
Hungry wine fans also noshed on dishes from restaurants such as Match Cuisine & Cocktails, Beckett’s Table, The Bakery Phoenix, Leoni’s Focaccia, The Herb Box, The Larder at DeSoto Central Market, Modern Round, Southern Rail, The Strand, Urban Italian Eatery, Urban Table, and Vincent’s on Camelback.
Jenelle Bonifield of Food & Lifestyles captured the day's festivities, including the happy crowds enjoying a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Grape Arizona offered plenty of shopping opportunities also, including wine-related gifts, wine glasses and, of course, bottles (I added Rune Winery Grenache, Bodega Pierce Rosé, and Pillsbury Grenache Reserve to my Arizona wine collection). I'll be back next year!
