Gertrude’s at the Desert Botanical Garden Introduces New Spring Menu
(Phoenix - PRESS RELEASE) Gertrude’s, the highly touted full-service restaurant located just inside the Desert Botanical Garden, is now serving its new Spring menus at lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Gertrude’s ingredient-driven seasonal menus meld produce and products from farmers and purveyors to offer extraordinarily fresh and unexpected flavors.
The new menu is full of local and regional items sure to please local diners and the thousands of visitors to the Garden. Look for indigenous AZ wild boar, bison, chimichurri, red and green chilie, pepitas, nopales, chayote, and Anasazi beans, as well as seasonal favorites like corn, carrots, pea tendrils, tomatoes, asparagus, arugula, jicama, watermelon, citrus, pomegranate, and maqui berry.
The brunch menu carried over the Huevos Rancheros from last season and added a Green Chile Hollandaise to Gertie’s Benedict plus added the Wild Boar Green Chile to its Breakfast Boar-rito $14.
The wine list is small, yet packs a significant Arizona punch. Wines from Pillsbury are the house brand and wines from Sand Reckoner, Merkin, Dos Cabezas, Page Springs, and Tumbleweed round out the Arizona portfolio. The cocktails continue to be congruent to the food menus anchored by the Cactus Cosmo with AZ Cactus Water & Prickly Pear Nectar along with the Garden ‘Rita with Jalapeño Tequila, house-made Lime Syrup and fresh Cilantro.
