On September 16th, the founders of the Arizona Taco Festival are celebrating National Guacamole Day with a special pre-festival event called ROCK THE GUAC! Twenty of the Valley's top chefs will be battling it out to take home the title of best guacamole and bragging rights. No secrets will be given away, but in the days leading up to this culinary competition, some of these renowned chefs will share some hints. (Previous Chefs)
Chef Justin Pfeilsticker's background is as varied as his talents. He began his career at Chez Pauline in Paris, worked at a winery on the island of Santorini in Greece, owned his own restaurant, Café 181 in Downtown Chandler, which later became Justin, and was the executive chef of Trader Vic’s. Currently, he is executive sous chef at ZuZu at the Hotel Valley Ho and an avid gardener whose harvest often finds its way into that kitchen.
